MARY MYLREA als MYLREA 1911 Will Andreas

This is the last will and testament of Mary Mylrea of Andreas village widow of the late William Mylrea blacksmith deceased. I leave and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Jane, wife of Robert Cormode, the sum of fifty pounds. I leave all the rest of my property both real and personal to my son Thomas Daniel absolutely and I appoint him sole executor of this my will. In witness whereof I the said Mary Mylrea have hereunder affixed my mark this the 30th day of September 1904. Mary Mylrea my mark X

Signed and delivered for her last will and testament in our presence and in presence of eachother have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses the executrix having affixed her cross mark thereto after the same had been read over to her. Witnessed by James Dugdale, William Cottier

At a district probate session holden at Ramsey on the 15th day of May 1911 The annexed paper writing dated the 30th day of September 1904 having been proved to be the last will and testament of Mary Mylrea late of the village in the parish of Andreas, widow, deceased who died on the 31st day of January 1911 at the village of Andreas aforesaid Thomas Daniel Mylrea also of the village of Andreas aforesaid, a son of the testator, the executor therein named is sworn well and truly to fulfill and execute the same and to administer the personal estate of the said deceased according to law. …..Callow, a judge of the said Court

NOTES

  1. Mary was the youngest daughter of John Mylrea & Isabella Quayle. She was born in Michael in 1827
  2. Her father John was the older son of Daniel Mylrea & Mary Hughes. He was born in Ballaugh and was from the Ballacooiley family
  3. Mary Mylrea married William Mylrea (no relation) in Michael in 1850 and the couple soon moved to Andreas where William was a blacksmith
  4. William was the youngest son of Thomas Mylrea & Margaret Cowin. He was born in Braddan in 1827
  5. William & Mary had 10 children:
    • William (1851-1854)
    • John (1852-1921), migrated to Australia
    • Mary Ann (1854-1885)
    • Margaret (1857-1923), migrated to USA
    • William (1858-1861)
    • Thomas Daniel (1861-1947)
    • Philip Herbert (1863-1864)
    • William Frederick (1865-1942), migrated to South Africa
    • Elizabeth Jane (1867-1942)
    • Frances Emily(1870- 1904)
  6. Mary's father lived with William & Mary after the death of his wife
